HEALING TRAUMA IS THE ESSENTIAL FIRST STEP ON A PATH TOWARD LASTING REHABILITATION.
Many participants in our program have experienced trauma since childhood. Violence, homelessness, abuse, and death are common sources of stress.
We provide one-on-one counseling, trauma- and stress-management groups, and enrichment workshops to help participants recover and grow. By understanding how trauma affects the body and mind, and learning how to respond to intense emotions with nonaggressive actions, they can better cope and thrive.
Time to heal.
Through trauma counseling, dedicated life coaching, and education support, we are helping them move forward with the life they want to live.
It’s a survival response.
“When a person is inundated with chronically stressful and life-threatening events, particularly involving incessant gang warfare, the survival response is frequently aggression and often violence—fight, not flight.”

cognitive behavioral intervention
CRED’s licensed therapists work directly with young men and women, individually and in groups, to help them process trauma. They teach cognitive behavioral intervention (CBI) to help them understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and build self-regulation habits that enable them to live safely and work.
