Reverend Craig Nash

Director of Community Engagement

As the Director of Community Engagement, Craig encourages CRED men and women to serve and support their neighborhoods through special projects and enrichment opportunities. Connecting community-based organizations, faith-based leaders, local business leaders, and elected officials to CRED is key to accomplishing our goal of dramatically reducing gun violence in Chicago.

Born and raised in Chicago, Craig grew up in and around the Cabrini Green Housing Project, participated in “Jesse White Explorer Scouts”, Young Life Ministry, and Community Youth Creative Learning Experience (C.Y.C.L.E.). These activities shaped his views and life’s mission. Craig has dedicated over 40 years of his life to the service of others, with a special emphasis on youth development since leaving military service in 1987.

Craig is a Chicago Public Schools alumnus, a graduate of Monmouth College, and served as an officer in the United States Army. Rev. Craig is currently serving as an Associate Minister at Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church on the West Side of Chicago. The Nash Family sponsors the Fiona Nash Scholarship to support and encourage students. The scholarship honors the memory of Craig’s oldest daughter.
