Jorge Matos

Director of Scaling CVI for a Safer Chicago

Jorge Matos joins CRED as the Director of Scaling CVI for a Safer Chicago, reporting to Susan Lee, and will be based out of the Chicago office. In this role, Jorge will lead a blended CRED and Metropolitan Peace Initiative (MPI) team to support and partner with each neighborhood to scale community violence intervention (CVI) efforts. Prior to joining CRED, Jorge was the Executive Director of READI Chicago, an evidence-based CVI initiative that serves high-risk individuals in five communities across the city. He has spent the last 18 years of his career designing strategies to promote violence reduction and community healing through his dedicated work in programming, workforce development, and community violence intervention. In his free time, Jorge mentors young men and coaches varsity baseball at the high school level.
